2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
As Yomi continued to grow in grace, he noticed something he had not understood before. The challenges in his life did not suddenly disappear. He still faced temptations, disappointments, and difficult circumstances. Yet there was a difference: he was no longer facing them alone or in his own strength.
In the past, whenever he encountered a difficult situation, his first instinct was to rely on his own wisdom, abilities, and determination. When those failed, he would become discouraged and frustrated.
But through his walk with the Lord, he began to understand that God’s grace is not merely a force that helps us get things done; it is God’s divine enablement that carries us through all situations, including situations that are beyond our natural ability.
The Apostle Paul learned this lesson through personal experience. He prayed repeatedly for the removal of a particular affliction, but the Lord responded by saying, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” In other words, God’s answer was not merely deliverance from the trial but the provision of grace to overcome in the midst of it.
Many believers seek grace only when they are in trouble, but mature believers learn to depend on grace every day. They recognize that they need God’s help not only in adversity but also in prosperity; not only in weakness but also in times of strength.
The grace that saves us is the same grace that sustains us.
This is why pride is such a dangerous thing. Pride convinces a person that they can manage life on their own. Humility, on the other hand, positions us to continually receive God’s help. Scripture says that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
Whenever we acknowledge our need for Him, His grace flows freely into our lives. When we depend on Him, His strength becomes available to us.
As you go into today, remember that whatever season you are in, God’s grace is sufficient. Whether you are coasting in victory, facing a battle, carrying a burden, pursuing a calling, or waiting on a promise, there is grace available for you. Do not rely on your own strength. Draw near to the throne of grace and receive the help that God has already made available.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the abundance of Your grace. Teach me to depend on You daily and not on my own strength. Let Your grace be sufficient for every challenge and every assignment You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Confession: God’s grace is sufficient for me. His strength is perfected in my weakness. I depend on Him daily, and His grace empowers me to overcome, endure, and fulfill His purpose for my life.
